let's meet helen

Helen is the oldest member of our team, as Simon likes to keep reminding her!  Helen and Simon are a married couple, Sam is their nephew.  Helen is the guardian of all things financial for Levland Ltd.  Simon and Sam like to spend the money, but not without Helen’s permission, and not always.  Helen’s background is secretarial from college which later turned in to sales and then recruitment with Manpower Group for several years before setting up Levland Ltd with Simon.  Helen has been by Simon’s side from the beginning of time (we think) and is the only one who can really get away with telling him off!

Helen administers the companies’ bookkeeping & accounts, Tax, VAT, Payroll and CIS.  She deals with HMRC, Companies House, accountants, our many suppliers, the Pensions regulator, Planning authorities, NICEIC, ADIA and CSCS on behalf of Simon and Sam.  She supports our customers, Building contractors and Architects in their CDM responsibilities and O&M files for Levland Ltd.

When she’s not busy doing all of that, Helen likes to find out what Simon and Sam are up to on site, and what latest creation they have dreamed up between them.  Her knowledge of the business and its operations often surprises Simon and Sam, who find it impossible to ever get the upper hand!

Helen describes herself and “the woman that knows what’s going on” and prefers a no-nonsense practical approach to life, which makes her popular with many of our customers.  Her favorite business tool is QuickBooks (when it’s not ‘SlowBooks’) and her annoyance is suppliers getting invoices wrong, creating more work than they should – oh and Simons singing!
